Introduction Section

Dear all,

Let me first introduced my self as Public Health observer. I’m pretty happy choosing that term to explain me. This is because I feel that I’m currently still in the beginning of observing, learning, and reflecting what I’ve learnt from Public Health issues in the society.

I’ve been bombarded with medical knowledge for at least one decade. Only small parts of them have been touched by what we’ve called psychosocial and ecological paradigm. As a medical student graduate, I had been driven to believe that human being consists of parts and interaction between parts. To be a healthy person means the absence of malfunctioning of these components. It just enough for me to say that if someone is not healthy it means that there is something wrong with his or her body’s component. This paradigm has been sedimented in my brain for at least ten years before then I began to realize that there is more than just mechanical things about human being. There are much more important things that we should not denied. Some of them are Psychosocial factors and environmental issues. In health promotion tribe, we call it Social Determinants of Health.
